Track Lighting

BKAC has embarked on a collaborative effort with the City of Charlottesville and Charlottesville City Schools and we have committed to raising funds for the procurement of lights at the CHS track facility with a private contributions goal totaling $200,000 towards this initiative.

We recognize the significance of this enhancement, as it will not only benefit our student-athletes but also the broader community. The addition of lights to this facility will provide a safe and accessible space for physical activity and recreational pursuits, extending the usability beyond daylight hours for city schools and area youth athletic teams to practice, community members to exercise, and enabling CHS to host major track and field events.

While BKAC will be pursuing eligible grants, including with the National Football League, achieving this goal is going to take community support.  We want to thank the Charlottesville Track Club for kicking off this campaign with a check for $10,000 and are working to engage other community stakeholder groups and individuals in keeping this momentum going!

NOTE: Our tracking of online donations below will reflect the balance of the $200,000 goal versus offline donations, including but not limited to CTC and other eligible grants.
